As travelers gear up for the upcoming holiday season, it’s worth taking a look at the food options at the airport, particularly if you’re planning to arrive a few hours early. So unless there are specific things you want to visit such as a drive out to the Montmorency Falls and around l'Île d'Orléans, it may be simpler to not bother renting a car at all.By September 2022, the Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) reported passenger traffic to be over 11 million, a major rebound following the last few years of travel lull.

Keep in mind that a car isn't really necessary to get around either city and, aside from the drive between the two, may end up being be more of a burden than anything else. You can book at īy car the official time would be about 3 hours if you can return your car at the airport. Either way, the trip by bus will probably take you around 4 hours. If the timing is right for your flight, there are several departures from Québec City that, after a 15-minute stop in downtown Montréal, continue on and will stop at Trudeau airport thus saving you the 747 transfer hassle. It takes you to the bus station in downtown Montréal where you then catch the 747 bus for $11 (exact change on the bus - no bills, but we have $1 and $2 coins - or tickets from the ticket counter in the bus station). The bus, Orléans Express, offers more departures per day than the train. Note that train tickets are cheaper, perhaps even cheaper than the bus, if you book early and get the Escape fare. The airport is a mere 5 minutes away, but you may need to wait a while for the shuttle. From the Dorval station you must call the shuttle bus (or book it ahead) since it's run by a separate company and also serves the hotels and a park-and-fly close by. The train goes to the Via Rail Dorval station, and it'll take about 4 to 4½ hours since it's also the train to Ottawa and there's a delay in Montréal downtown as it picks up more passengers. Otherwise: there are 4 trains a day during the week and 3 on weekends. You'll surely have a stopover in Montréal or perhaps Toronto depending on your destination, but it's probably the easiest and quickest way, depending on your connection. With so little time, I, too, vote for a flight from Québec City.
